Putah Creek Field Day

 ABI 198 section A (04/14/25)

Today was a successful day at Putah Creek! Most students able were able to observe their chosen species. An abundance of pictures were taken by students to potentially hone in on a research topic.

 Putah Creek Field Day

Date: April 14, 2025

Location: Putah Creek 

10:20 AM:
Students arrived at Putah Creek and gathered as a class.

10:30 AM:
A brief group discussion was held to review and share the species each student had chosen to focus on for observation.

10:40 AM – 12:20 PM:
Students spent time in the field observing their specified species. Field notes, behavioral observations, and habitat information were recorded to for potential topics. 

12:30 PM:

The class returned to campus in designated classroom. 

1:00 PM:
Back in the classroom, students voted on their top four research topics based on observations.

1:15 PM:
Students were divided into four groups, each assigned one of the top-voted topics. Groups began discussing and refining their potential research questions based on their field observations and prior knowledge.

2:00 PM:
The day concluded, with students prepared to continue developing their research questions and ideas in the next class session.
